Robert Pattinson Named as Godfather

Nationalledger reports ROBERT PATTINSON has landed a new role - he's become a godfather.

The Brit has been close friends with fellow actor Tom Sturridge and his family since their days at London's Harrodian School and Pattinson was asked to take on the new responsibility when Sturridge's sister, Matilda, gave birth to a son earlier this month (04Sep11).

The 25 year old, who is said to be dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, accepted the honour and celebrated the new arrival during a double date with Sturridge and his girlfriend, actress Sienna Miller, during a night out in the U.K. capital four days later.

A source tells Us Weekly magazine the two couples "looked happy" as they enjoyed drinks at the Groucho Club.

Kristen Stewart Is An 'Extraordinary Actress'

Robert Pattinson isn't the only fan of his girlfriend, Kristen Stewart's acting talent. His best friend, Tom Sturridge is impressed too.

The gorgeous British star is currently starring opposite Rachel Bilson in Waiting For Forever and starred with Kristen in On The Road.

Of the experience, Tom told PopSugar: “It was such a big undertaking that film. And incredibly terrifying to approach it.

“So it was nice to hang out with someone at the beginning that I knew.”

Of Kristen, he added: “And she's such an extraordinary actress that it was amazing to watch her work.”
