Two more young actresses cast to play Renesmee

Rachel St. Galais
So it seems that two new young actors may have been added to the Breaking Dawn cast list, and will both play Renesmee at different ages. This has yet to be confirmed by Summit as of now.

I’m guessing they are using her size (Rachel’s) and her body for a younger Renesmee, then superimposing/morphing Mackenzie Foy’s face on her body, like they did with Armie Hammer so he was able to play both Winklevoss twins (they used the body of a Ralph Lauren model for the second twin, then Armie acted both parts and…you have twins) in The Social Network. I guess this is where the experts like John Bruno come in.

In addition, Miss Mackenzie has some scoop on how the visual effects group plan to create Renesmee on screen.

We now have more info about the CGI techniques that are going to be used in Breaking Dawn to rapidly age Mackenzie’s character Renesmee. The CGI team is going to use a mixture of ‘Motion Capture’ and ‘Live Action’ Photography by fitting Mackenzie with an individually made skull cap fitted with a tiny camera positioned in front of her face. Like Avatar, the information collected about her facial expressions and eyes is then transmitted to computers.

As reported back in October Mackenzie’s face will then be digitally transferred onto the face and body of a younger child to create the illusion of her character’s rapid ageing. Besides the performance capture data which will be transferred directly to the computers, numerous reference cameras will give the digital artists multiple angles of each performance. All live action and motion capture footage will then be composited on screen
