Dakota Fanning To Star in “Effie”

Seventeen year old Daktoa Fanning has landed the title role in the Emma Thompson period film “Effie.” Set in the 1850′s, the story focuses on the loveless marriage of Euphemia Gray and the famed critic John Ruskin. The cast includes Greg Wise as Ruskin, Tom Sturridge as John Everett Millais , the artists Effie had an affair with, and Emma Thompson as Lady Eastlake, who helps Effie through her struggles. The script has been in development for some time. It appears that casting Dakota was the final piece of the puzzle.

‘Cutlass’ Starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning to Open HollyShorts Film Festival

The opening-night films and the first Maverick Producers Award have been announced for this year’s annual HollyShorts Film Festival, and Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning’s Cutlass is listed for opening-night. The HollyShorts Film Festival is an annual eight-day festival in LA that showcases short films. Kristen and Dakota’s Cutlass is directed by Kate Hudson and also stars Virginia Madsen and Kurt Russell. Read more below:

'Twilight' stars featured in London 'Most Wanted' exhibit

On Thursday, an art exhibit in London, England opened up at the White Cube Hoxton Square called "Most Wanted."

The exhibit is a series of paintings by Richard Phillips, who told The New York Times his series was inspired by a day on the set of Gossip Girl (one of his paintings was used on the show).
"I was hanging out on set, and it was incredible how these young actors were shaping news,” said Phillips, who is considered something of a modern-day “history painter.” “They would take something from Page Six that was written about the show and then read it into the script. It was what the new shape of pop art can be– this reflexive mirror of culture."


Three Twilight stars are among the chosen subjects for this gallery, including Robert Pattinson ("Edward Cullen" in the Twilight series), Kristen Stewart ("Kristen Stewart"), and Dakota Fanning ("Jane").

Photos of the gallery and the opening are attached in the slideshow. Note that Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine (which contributed the song "Heavy in Your Arms" to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's soundtrack) was present for the opening.

"Most Wanted" will remain on exhibit at White Cube until March 5th.

New York painter Richard Phillips gives us an exclusive first look at his newest Most Wanted portraits, and talks candidly about his ultra-famous subjects.

“I think the easiest one right off the bat was Kristen because of her relationship with Pattinson; plus, New Moon and Twilight were such a success. And just at that time she was hitting it big with The Runaways with Dakota Fanning. The Runaways was kind of a great but wasted opportunity, because the film was horribly directed and terribly shot, but their performances isolated from that were great.”

“The demand for getting things right with Pattinson—getting the lips right, the beard right—is important because all the character he has in his classic ‘I’ve seen it all before’ look is made up of all those constituent parts. A friend of mine stopped by and said, ’There’s a subliminal message in his beard, but I can’t make it out.’ There isn’t [laughs].”
