“We can confirm they have parted ways and have no further comment,” a rep for Joe told Access.
According to a New York Post Page Six source – which first broke the news – the couple split on good terms.
“It was mutual and amicable,” the Page Six source said, adding that their busy schedules contributed to the reported split.
An Us Weekly source said the pair first split last month just before the actress turned 24.
“They broke up shortly before her birthday, then got back together,” the mag source said.
A second Us Weekly source claimed, “Joe wasn’t that into it.”
Coincidentally, on Wednesday in a new Details magazine interview with Joe, 21, the musician gushed about Ashley."I think what works about it is she really puts my feelings first. She understands my busy schedule. She'll fly out to my shows—she's been to places in South America that I can't even pronounce," Jonas told the magazine.
The two began dating under a bit of a cloud; Jonas had briefly dated best friend and tour mate Demi Lovato, breaking up with the teen singer in May. A few months later, emotional and eating issues would send Lovato off their tour and lead her to seek treatment. Allegedly, Greene and Lovato fought over email about dating Jonas.
Jonas has also dated Taylor Swift; their alleged phone breakup is stuff of legend. After Swift continually skewered him in lyric and public, Jonas told Details that he'll be writing his own version of some events that, undoubtedly, involve the breakup.
"I have a right to write about things too," he told the magazine. The new album, he said, will include "different love scenarios that I've been through, breakups, hurts. Me hurting somebody and feeling bad about it. I think there's a lot of scenarios where people might wanna hear my side of the story."
