Robert Pattinson's Character Causing 'Bel Ami' Editing Problems

Robert Pattinson has admitted that Bel Ami is still in the editing stage, as movie executives are worried what fans are going to think of his rather unpleasant character.

Pattinson plays Georges Duroy in the film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's 1885 novel, a man described by R-Pattz as "completely amoral", quite the opposite from the dashing Edward Cullen that has made him a star amongst the millions of Twilight fans.

He told Total Film, "We were really true to the book and because the guy is basically a shit who wins everything at the end it’s really difficult to market it – especially with me in it. Everyone’s worried that everyone’s going to be thinking, 'Oh I want him to be nice, he’s got to be nice to all the ladies'."

Bel Ami, which also stars Uma Thurman, is released on May 12th.
